Even before he came to town, we knew we really liked U.S. Marshals Service
Director John Clark. He’s the one who made the final decision to
build the national Marshals Service Museum in Fort Smith. But it didn’t
take him long during his first visit here on Feb. 20 to feel right at
home with us.
“Let me start off by saying, wow!” Clark said, after being
introduced by Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe to an enthusiastic group of civic
leaders and officials at the historic Clayton House in downtown Fort
Smith. “I’ve only been here about eight hours and the city’s
charm and hospitality already affirms my decision to make this the place
where the remarkable story of the U.S. Marshals Service’s 217
years of history will be told. We
have found a home now.”
Entertainment Fort Smith enjoyed cohosting the Clayton House reception
for Clark with the Post Winery.
